The Egg Chair, designed in 1958 was orginally designed for one of Jacobsen'smajor architectural projects, The Royal SAS Hotel in Copenhagen. He designed notonly the building, its interior and furniture, but also the light fixtures,carpets, cutlery and even the ashtrays - effecting a meticulously detailed andrefined unity of design.
