Calfskin cowhides are know for their fine and diaphanous texture which is almost velvety and their high durability even in harsh environmental conditions. Although they aren't as insulating or resistant to frigid temperatures as lamb skin, they're considered more resistant to abrasion. Calfskin rugs are excellent accent pieces or floor rugs due to their durability in ares with high foot traffic. Calfskin can be cleaned and polished although using a soft bristle brush is recommended.
